The brief
A global challenger issuer processor aimed to expand its operations across EMEA. The processor contracted us to deliver an extensive market entry analysis, competition report, market sizing model and business forecasting models across a wide range of target markets.
Our approach
The key deliverables of this project were:
- Engineering a bottom-up market sizing model for issuer-processing services with parameters such as client type, current processing capabilities and future product developments;
- Modelling and estimating revenue growth and costs across their target markets;
- Conducting a competitive analysis of incumbent providers and challengers with a presence in each market of interest;
- Developing a scoring framework for market entry assessment and conducting in-depth analysis of various entry aspects, such as: the regulatory landscape, legal and compliance considerations, product and technology.
The solution and key benefits
We developed and presented a market prioritisation report to the client, covering the outcomes of the market analysis, including methodology and background data from each section of the analysis. We also delivered a business case report showing the results of the forecasting models across their target markets and made recommendations on the strategically beneficial markets to enter. Following this, we made recommendations on achievable growth opportunities for the client via new product capabilities and strategic partnership approaches.
