Since I joined, I’ve been working in our finance segment.  It’s been really interesting and great experience so far; at the moment I’m assisting a client to go-live with a stable coin project (like bitcoin).

From day one (even throughout the interview process), I found everyone really friendly and welcoming.  There’s a lot of information (and names!) to digest on the first day, but it helped having lunch with some of my team to break the day up.

My client is based in Geneva, so I don’t travel to the client office, but typically work at home for three days a week and in the office for two.  One of the things I really enjoy about my role is that no two days are the same.  As with all jobs, there’ll be some days that are busier than others, but I don’t mind so much because the project I’m working on is really interesting and I’m working with a great team of people.

I’m still a relative new joiner, having joined in September 2021, but so far I’d say we have a really open culture.  Our partners are always available and are open to hearing ideas from people at all levels.  I’d also say we have a sociable culture, with regular drinks after work.

Coming from a large investment bank, I wanted to work for a small company, where I’d have greater learning and development opportunities. I also wanted to join a company that is growing and where I could be part of that journey.  Even since I joined the company, it’s grown a lot and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the next few years.

Go for it!  If you enjoy working in a small company culture, with a flat structure, and a varied role where you get to work on a variety of different projects then this is a great place to work.  It’s also a great company for people who are early on in their career as they can experience different markets and sectors to help them figure out what they may want to specialise in.

I have a really strange mix of hobbies which are one extreme to the other!
